2023 Academic Calender For Schools In Kenya (pdf).Primary and Secondary schools in Kenya were closed for long holidays of two months from November 23,2022 by ministry of education.
This closing gave room for National exams to kick off .The Kenya primary school education assessment (KPSEA) ,Kenya certificate of primary school (KCPE) and Kenya certificate of secondary schools (KCSE) were scheduled until december 22.
The inaugural batch of Grade Six candidates took the KPSEA exams from November 28 and until November 30.

The secondary school written exams began on December 2 and ended on December 23, while the KCSE practical exams began on November 21.
The KCSE exam marking period will thereafter begin and last from January 2 to January 20, 2022.
After being thrown off by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the school calendar will return to normal in January 2023.
The first term of classes will begin on January 23 and end on April 21 with a two-week break in between(half-term)
School games will also be a part of learning (Athletics)

Just like term one, term two will run for 13 weeks from May 8 to August 11. Co-curricular activities (ball games and other indoor games) will resume when academics are through. After then, there will be a two-week holiday break before the last semester begins.
The third term will begin on August 28 and end on November 3 when it occurs.
There will be a three-week holiday and one day off from school.
Exam period marking and grading will happen right away. In various locations around the nation for precisely three weeks, and then the exams are released before January 2024.
