FORM ONE’S TO JOIN SECONDARY ON THE 30TH.In Three weeks time,2022 KCPE students will start joining secondary school as form ones.
The ministry of education has already given out guiding rules to schools across the country.
According to circular dated 21st November 2022 from Principal secretary (PS) for basic education .Schools must revise their instructions KCPE students to join form one this January.
Ps Kipsang says form one will join as from 30th January and already the ministry has given warning to exploitative schools on parents.
He says schools should stop compelling parents to purchase school uniforms and other items from directed stores.
“Parents should not be told by schools to buy uniforms or any other supplies at a single store. The Ministry circular states that schools should not request that parents visit and purchase products there.”
Private schools are calling the ministry to ensure fairness in selection.
Through The Kenya Private Schools Association (KPSA) they’ve asked for transparency in form one selection excercise.
“Also,selection should be guided by students performance in Kenya certificate of primary school (KCPE),”said KPSA chairman Mr. Solomon Munene.
He further added,the government should reward hard work by allowing students to join secondary schools if their marks allows.
Munene also requested that the Ministry of Education take into account private secondary institutions when choosing and placing students in Form 1.
Because of exclusion in the selection process, private secondary schools struggle to enrol Form 1 students.
This is unfair because private secondary schools have spent a lot of money on infrastructure and instructional resources, but their facilities are hardly ever used, according to Munene.
He asserted that the government, as well as all other parties involved.
Should promote private schools in the spirit of a public-private partnership since doing so will relieve pressure on public secondary schools.
All schools will resume operations on January 23, 2023, according to the Ministry of Education’s calendar.

The 2023 form one selection is based on KCPE Performance ,merit and Regional balance.
The selection starts with national schools ,then Extra county schools, county schools and sub-county schools follow later.

Procedure to Check the 2023 Form One Selection Results Online for 2022 KCPE Candidates.
1. Check out the www.education.go.ke website of the Ministry of Education.
2. Choose Online Services from the top menu, then click on the Form One Selection option.
3. You will then be directed to the 2023 Form One Selection page, from which you can select either national schools, extra-county schools, or county schools. Pick One, for example, by clicking on the National Schools Selection.
5. Choose the county and sub-county in which the 2022 KCPE candidate took his or her exams from the drop-down menu on the website.
6. Enter the candidate’s 2022 KCPE number, for example, 28659141009. Click “Submit.” The page will handle the data.
7. The outcomes will be presented using the template format if the student has been assigned to one of the schools.
The information will include the candidate’s name, index number, KCPE scores, sub-county, school of choice, and school type.
