TSC Finally Transfers 14613 Teachers and Principals. It is now Officially that Teachers delocalization policy is abolished following pressure from various education stakeholders to teachers service Commission,(TSC) to end the barbaric delocalization policy, TSC has finally bow to it .
TSC has officially approved rerouting and transfer of 14,613 teachers and principals back to their home counties. Through the circular released to education regional directors, the TSC boss Nancy Macharia said the approved transfers were based on staffing imbalance across counties.

According to TSC ,Only 120 teacher transfers failed to be effected because they couldn’t get suitable replacement.14,733 teachers had submitted the request for transfers when TSC opened window on November 30th 2022.
According to the TSC circular on 9th January,2023,the employer promised to keep checking on the remaining requests before the end of term one.
Transferred school heads have been asked to report to their new stations on 16th of January while deputies and teachers will report back on 23th of January when schools will be reopening.
Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) general secretary has welcomed the transfers ,saying they were long overdue and byee to punitive delocalization policy.
Mr.Oyuu urged TSC in future to consider transferring Teachers to places they can produce results and not where they feel they’re punished.
“Most teachers wasted Fridays and Mondays travel to and from their homes ,now they will make use of their time in schools for its betterment”
Dr.Macharia confirmed that there are 12,019 transfer application to be effected ssonet by Regional directors and 2,594 teachers asking for inter-regional transfers.
Additionally,for inter-county transfers they will be done from TSC headquarters.Macharia concluded by urging Regional directors to ensure teacher imbalance,Gender and teacher shortage guides them in the entire exercise.
