According to KUCCPS boss,this criteria will have a affect students who wish to enroll in mathematics related courses such as computer science, ICT, economics, statistics, and finance. but couldn’t make C+ plus in the same subject.
Although, it should be noted that mathematics won’t have general entry grade into university of C+.
As per Kenya national examination Council (KNEC) over 60% of students in the recently released KCSE 2022 exam scored grade D and E in mathematics.
Poor grades in mathematics has given difficult times to students choosing degree and diploma programs in aligning their passions with the realities of their performance.
For example, a student with a B+ overall but a D+ in mathematics cannot be admitted to any health sciences or teaching programs. He will be pushed to take courses with dubious professional prospects and utility.
