Junior Secondary in Confusions.Since grade seven learners reported to their new level of academic journey, the ministry of education and Teachers employer (TSC) seems to be in limbo now that learning is far from taking place in junior secondary schools.

Reports indicate that over 60% of learners have reported back to schools but there are no teachers to teach.

TSC To Promote Primary School Teachers With Degrees and Diplomas To Junior Secondary
In Nyanza and Western the response has been good, while at Kisii County, Mr. Nelson Sifuna,director of Education Western Kenya revealed.
For the past one week, Schools have been admitting and registering learners in Nemis system, while those in class have been waiting for teachers. Learning is yet to commence since teachers have not yet deployed.
Junior Secondary in Confusions, Pressure From Teachers Union
Kenya Union of Teachers have condemned delay deployment of teachers to schools.
According to the executive Sec, KNUT Kisumu County, Learners appear good in new uniforms but when asked what they’ve learned, they respond with nothing.
Education officers from nyanza retaliated by saying already primary teachers are around and they should step in.
Mr. Sifuna added, Teachers are requested to continue going to classes and teacher as they wait for further information.
With Knut officials demanding for speedy action on the matter, officials from the ministry if education from the region have promised the delay won’t long.
“We want to ask TSC to deploy teachers as early as yesterday so that learners can have experience of learning in junior secondary,” Mr. OBUONA says

In addition, Sifuna says deployment is almost done, the list Of teachers approved will taken to the regions which will cascade it down to counties for posting.
On the other side of private schools in Nyanza, they’re experiencing low turnouts despite having equipped enough.Parents are taking kids to public primary schools for free education.
This is after private schools claimed that they’re not receiving any funds from the government hence it will upon them to decide on how much to ask for fees.
