Solicitor General Shadrack Mose.President William Ruto has nominated Shadrack John Mose for the appointment of Solicitor-General.
If approved by the National Assembly, Mose will take over from renowned lawyer Kennedy Ogeto, who will have served a five-year term.
Mose vied for the Kitutu Masaba parliamentary seat on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket but was unsuccessful.
Honorable Ogeto was appointed to the position by former President Uhuru Kenyatta in March 2018.
Ruto is confident that Mose and Attony General Moturi, which are brothers, will work together.
He also assured supporters of the Jubilee Party that he would work to grow the economy and help expand devolution.
In a letter dated January 25, 2023, Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service Felix Koskei asked Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula to give the nomination top priority.
Mose was chosen from a list that included two others: Beatrice Mugeni Meso and George Kithi.
Shadrack Mose Work Experience
With more than 29 years of legal expertise, Mose is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and previously represented the Kitutu Masaba Constituency in the National Assembly from 2017 to 2022.
Currently, Mose is the managing partner at M/S. Mose, Mose, and Mose Advocates. He has worked in a number of professional areas, including, complicated commercial litigation that involves, among other things;

- Employment law
- public international law
Mose In Parliament 2017-2022
As a Member of the National Assembly, he
served as a member of the House Business Committee and the Departmental Committee on Transport, Infrastructure, Public Works, Housing, Urban Development, Shipping, and Maritime.
On several occasions, he served as the acting chairperson of the committee as well.
Mose is an experienced lawyer and is expected to bring a wealth of knowledge and skill to the position of Solicitor-General.
He is expected to ensure that the country’s legal framework is up to date and that the laws are properly applied.
