KUCCPS Courses and Cluster Points.The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has simplified the process of calculating the cluster points.
Students who scored an aggregate of C+ grade and above, who will be selected for the degree placement procedure in both private and public.
THE KUCCPS COURSES & CLUSTER CALCULATION FORMULA
The formula used to calculate the cluster points is w=√(r/m*api/spi)*48.

This means that the number of points awarded to a student will depend on the grades they have obtained in four subjects, which is known as the Grade Point Average (GPA).
The formula is edited annually to reflect changes in the academic structure .
Students can use the formula to calculate their cluster points and pursue the courses of their choice in the universities.
KUCCPS MINIMUM GRADE REQUIREMENTS FOR PLACEMENT
KUCCPS has placed certain grades as minimum requirements to place candidates in various courses in universities and colleges.
-A minimum of C+and above will be selected for the degree placement in both public and n private universities and their degrees sponsored by the government.
-A minimum of C-(minus) and above is eligible for placement for diploma course.
-An average of ‘D’ grade are placed for craft certificates in public colleges.
KUCCPS APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR DEGREE 2023
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) requires potential students to meet certain requirements before they can apply for the placement program.
These includes:
- A minimum of a C+ aggregate in the KCSE exams
- A copy of the national identity card of the student and the parents
- A copy of the student’s birth certificate
- Students must also have an active email address
- A valid mobile phone number, and access to the internet
- Additionally, students must have their index number and the KCSE examination year
- Finally, the payment of application fee of KES. 1,050 (KES. 800 for private universities) should be made through MPESA Paybill, to complete the application process.
KUCCPS ONLINE APPLICATION 2023.
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) provides an online application system for students seeking admission to universities and colleges in Kenya.
The process for applying includes :-
- Google KUCCPS website and login to: https:/Kuccps.students.net
- Inputting your index number, KCSE examination year, and birth certificate number to access available courses and programs.
- You must then enter the business number and account number, which is the KCSE examination year followed by 11 digit index number.
- After entering the amount, your application fee must be paid through MPESA.
- Once the fee has been paid and the application is complete, it is important to log out to keep your data safe.
- After the application has been processed, KUCCPS will provide a list of courses and institutions you have been selected for, and you will have one month to apply for inter-institutional transfers.
TIP NOTE: Any other mode of payment will not be accepted.
