Amos Nyaribo Election Upheld. The Nyamira High Court has upheld the election of Governor Amos Nyaribo, after considering two petitions challenging the election results.
The 1st Petition vs IEBC
The first petition, filed by voter Dennis Omwenga Ayiera, alleged a number of irregularities and malpractices, including errors in the election process and the generation of two different Form 36As in some polling stations.
The court, however, dismissed the petition after considering arguments from both parties.
The 2nd Petition Vs Amos Nyaribo
The second petition, filed by Walter Enock Nyambati Osebe, alleged a number of irregularities and malpractices, including the failure of the IEBC to comply with the law in conducting the elections.
The court also dismissed this petition after considering both parties’ arguments.
This ruling affirms the election of Governor Nyaribo, who is set to serve a five-year term as Nyamira.
Governor Nyaribo was represented by lawyers Stephen Ligunya and Julius Anyoka who asked the court to dismiss the petition which they termed as baseless.
