TSC Hardship areas. The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) of Kenya has recently released an updated list of hardship areas and allowances per job group for the period 2023-2025.
Tsc Payment of Hardship Allowances
According to the TSC is currently paying a monthly hardship allowance to a section of teachers working in designated hardship areas.
These areas lack food, transportation, and other basic amenities.
The allowances are meant to compensate teachers for working in these harsh conditions.
Furthermore, states that house allowance is paid differently based on where a teacher is teaching, with most areas paid according to other areas’ allowances.
Additionally, blind teachers and teachers confined to wheelchairs receive an allowance at a rate of Ksh. 15,000 per month.
Finally, explains that TSC is re-advertising 14,000 positions in January 2023, and is setting up different promotion rules for the year 2023-2024.
These changes will ensure that teachers in hardship areas receive the necessary compensation for the difficult conditions they face
